Tests & Inspections

NEN 3134

The NEN 3134 norm determines the safety of low-voltage systems in medical centres. This includes hospitals and nursing homes, but also rooms or spaces used for medical purposes in private homes and businesses. Personnel and patients may not run the risk of coming in contact with electrically-powered medical equipment.

What does GTI do?
Every space has a Central Earthing Point (CAP), to which all earth connections are connected. In an NEN 3134 inspection, GTI monitors whether the resistance value of the CAP is high enough. We also check whether all points that must be earthed - and that includes the floor - are actually earthed. In addition, we look at whether the room has the right number of connection points and whether the core diameter is being used properly. Lastly, we inspect the distribution box.

We describe our findings in a clearly-presented report, in which we specify the following:

  • why we are conducting the inspection;
  • which components were found to be in good condition;
  • which components require maintenance;
  • what you can do to satisfy the NEN 3134 norm.

Why GTI?
There are three important reasons for choosing GTI:

1. Our services entail more than inspection.
GTI can advise you on measures to resolve any defects in the system (and also provide you with a cost estimate). If you wish, we will repair the defects ourselves. Moreover, you can enter into a maintenance and management contract with GTI for several years. We will then take full responsibility for all your system maintenance tasks.

2. GTI offers independent inspection.
Not only GTI as a company, but also all our inspectors individually are certified for various disciplines (scopes). Moreover, every inspector is evaluated every eighteen months on the basis of an examination of his/her work and reports.

3. GTI is the only organisation that can provide the inspection of low-voltage systems in medical areas as part of a total package.
