NVI (Nederlands Vaccin Instituut)

Client:
NVI (Nederlands Vaccin Instituut)
Location: Bilthoven

The NVI is one of the few institutes in the world that makes and purchases vaccines for use in its own country as commissioned by the Dutch government. GTI provides support to the NVI in optimising its quality system by writing down the procedures for calibration.

With this assignment the NVI wants to further improve its existing calibration methods. By writing down the procedures for all the measuring instruments, GTI ensures uniformity of working procedures. In the procedures, GTI sets down step by step how the calibration process should be carried out in order to achieve a uniform working method. The procedures also state which tolerances (to what extent the equipment may deviate from the norm) are acceptable. Once the written procedures are ready, GTI will also ?fit? them by carrying out a study to see if they are practical and usable for all the relevant measuring instruments.

Topical problem
With this assignment, GTI is contributing to the optimising of the quality of NVI?s calibration process. The NVI has an overlying procedure that states how calibrations are to be handled, which is managed by the QA (quality assurance) department. Besides this, there are technical implementation procedures to guarantee the implementation, which dovetail with the general procedures. These are the procedures that GTI is currently writing down. This contract with the NVI shows how GTI can use its wide technical experience by translating laws and regulations, directions and norms into workable procedures and practical solutions.
