GTI to implement reorganisation
Bunnik, June 16, 2005As a result of deteriorating market conditions and strategic choices, GTI is planning to implement a reorganisation. This will lead to the loss in the period 2005 to 2008 of approximately 1,000 jobs. Some of the jobs losses will be due to natural turnover. However, forced redundancies will affect around 700 employees. In the coming months, GTI will work on details of the reorganisation plan and the specific measures to be taken.
GTI's results have been under pressure for several years. To realise a structural improvement of returns, GTI has revised its strategy and made far-reaching choices aimed at making GTI a profitable company. GTI has opted for a limited number of specific market segments, to increase the commercial effectiveness of the organisation, to strengthen its innovative potential and to improve internal synergies.
With a view to these aims, GTI is adjusting its organisation and the way it works. The new structure will transform GTI into a network of companies, each of which focuses on specific markets, on a specific technical specialism or focuses on the optimal provision of services to clients in their own local environment or region. In addition, GTI combines know-how in a number of competence centres.
The new companies to be set up have been formulating their plans in recent months. This process has given us a clear picture of the required job cuts. The results of the reorganisation will be concentrated in a number of regional companies in the Randstad urban conurbation. employed.
GTI will take the measures to cut the number of employees as much as possible this year. The Central Works Council and the trade unions have meanwhile been informed of the main outline of the plans. In early September, GTI will begin negotiations with the trade unions on a social plan for employees.
GTI focuses on technical services to building services, industrial firms and infrastructure projects in the Benelux. GTI develops integral solutions in all segments of the market. GTI has got a workforce of approx. 8,800 employees. Taken into account in this figure is the announced reorganisation and following redundancy of employees in the GTI Utiliteit Zuid branch.
GTI is part of FABRICOM, a leading European player in the field of electrical, mechanical and HVAC installations and the related maintenance. The Group's companies (AXIMA in Europe, ENDEL and INEO in France, FABRICOM GTI in Belgium and GTI in the Netherlands) provide optimal solutions for customers in the Industry, Building Services, Infra and services sectors.
