GTI Zuid donates airco units for a deeper sleep

After several sleepless nights during a spell of hot weather, a mother sent a request to GTI asking the company to sponsor air conditioning units at the Ronald McDonald House. The large glazed walls in the bedrooms offer a tranquil panoramic view, but on sunny days they also cause a considerable build-up of heat in the sleeping quarter. "Most parents who stay here are highly emotional and badly need a good night's sleep to be able to help their child during the day," said Franca Adriaans of the Ronald McDonald House in Tilburg. "So we are delighted with GTI's offer." The air conditioning units will be installed on the top floor of the building this week.

The Ronald McDonald Children's Fund supports families with children who require professional help. The fund does this by creating Ronald McDonald Houses and developing projects for families with a child who is ill or has a handicap or psychological disorder. There are currently 16 Ronald McDonald Houses, including three under development. The Ronald McDonald House in Tilburg accommodates parents, brothers and sisters of sick children who are receiving treatment in the St. Elisabeth Hospital or Leypark Rehabilitation Centre. Other projects set up by the fund allow sick or disabled children to play or take part in sports or go on holiday with their parents. The child's well-being is always the number one consideration.
