GTI wins contract to build Euro Tank Terminal Phase 2
Rotterdam, September 27, 2006Euro Tank Terminal BV, part of the Rotterdam-based Vitol Groep, has awarded a consortium consisting of GTI West Industrie, Fabricom GTI Major Projects and Ballast Nedam the contract to expand storage at the existing fuel oil terminal by 344,000 cubic metres (known as Phase 2). Current storage capacity is 278,000 cubic metres. Phase 2 is expected to become operational in early 2008. GTI and its project partners will be responsible for engineering, procurement, construction and management.
GTI's responsibilities include mechanical design and the mechanical aspects of the fuel oil terminal such as piping, pumps, loading arms, the hot oil furnace, and the vapour processing unit. GTI is also taking care of the entire infrastructure and all the electrotechnical, instrumentation and process automation work.
Just like the current Euro Tank Terminal BV terminal, the new section will be fully automated. Ballast Nedam has been contracted for all the civil engineering work. Fabricom GTI Major Projects is responsible for building the eight storage tanks.
