GTI presents Fire Protection Certificate to Airflo-Eurofilters
Bunnik/Tilburg, April 19, 2005GTI's fire safety department has recently presented the Fire Protection Certificate to the management of Airflo Eurofilters in Overpelt, Belgium. Fulfilling the requirements set by the fire brigade and insurance company, this presentation completes the installation of a completely new fire alarm and sprinkler installation.
There was a need at Airflo Eurofilters, manufacturer and supplier of paper and synthetic vacuum cleaner bags and manufacturer of synthetic filter material for vacuum cleaner bags, to install a sprinkler and fire alarm system in the existing factory. In connection with the storage of flammable materials like paper and synthetic filter materials and the production process of vacuum cleaner bags they were used in, the insurance company as well as the fire brigade had set high requirements with regard to fire protection. In the production buildings and warehouses, with a total floor space of 44.000 m², GTI was responsible for the installation of a new sprinkler installation and fire alarm installation. The activities also included the installation of a new centrally located pump chamber with first-degree water supply and a 2100 m³ clear-water reservoir. One important demand of Airflo Eurofilters was that production had to remain operational during the activities. Thanks to good planning and continuous coordination with the production department, GTI was able to guarantee that the production and logistical processes would not be hampered by the activities. The initial activities were started in February 2003 and delivery took place in December 2004.
