GTI Infra has recently signed a five-year performance contract with the Ministry of Waterways and Public Works for the maintenance of all traffic installations and control systems in the Northwest Netherlands Traffic Control Centre. This order involves an amount of approximately € 14.7 million for GTI Infra.

The contract is a performance contract, completely in line with the tendering method that the Ministry of Waterways and Public Works pursues. The contract specifies performance criteria that the various installations have to comply with. Within the framework of the contract, GTI Infra will determine according to its own judgement which activities should be carried out at what time. This offers GTI every possible space to optimise the maintenance activities.

The traffic installations and control systems in the traffic control centre are used for traffic signalling, dynamic route information panels (DRIPs), slip road dosing, dynamic signposting and the control of tunnels. GTI is responsible for the maintenance of the systems from the control platforms in the traffic control centre to the roadside systems in the field, and the transmission that links the systems.

GTI Infra and the Ministry of Waterways and Public Works have signed a performance contract before; since 2003, GTI has been responsible for the total maintenance of six tunnel complexes in the province of South Holland.
The new contract strengthens GTI?s position as a leading party for maintenance & management on the highway network.
