GTI scores five-year metering and calibration contract Shell
Bunnik, December 15, 2004Shell Exploration & Production has subcontracted the total fiscal metering services for its assets in Norway, Great Britain and the Netherlands to the consortium FMC Kongsberg Metering and Rhomax Engineering. This contract was granted on 1 October after which the consortium in turn subcontracted all fiscal metering and calibration activities in the Netherlands to GTI.
Under the contract, GTI will amongst other things support the metering engineering (including gas chromatography and analysis equipment), while it will carry out the calibration and maintenance of all fiscal and other measuring lines for gas delivery. In addition, GTI will be responsible for the organisation and management of the metering maintenance, including the reporting and updating of all system data.
Compliance with legal requirements
The calibration among other things concerns temperature, pressure, flow and the caloric value of the gas delivered. Shell is thus ensured of gas delivery installations that comply with the legal and contractual requirements with regard to accuracy and stability. GTI will carry out the calibration activities on the measuring lines at the Shell locations. If necessary, GTI will use its high-quality calibration laboratories in.
GTI has ample experience in calibration and metering for Shell. GTI has carried out the calibration of measuring instruments, process instrumentation and gas detection equipment before. GTI has in the past gained experience in calibrating measuring lines for gas delivery at various Shell locations.
