Stena Line

Contract: Electrical engineering work
Client: Stena Line

GTI is Stena Line's regular technical services partner for maintenance, repair and modification work on its ships in the Hook of Holland. Our success is based on a consistently flexible approach and quick service.

A good example is GTI's emergency repair of the Stena Seatrader's switchboard following a short circuit. After the repair, the ship was sailed back to the Netherlands for the installation of replacement equipment - two emergency generators, temporary distribution systems and eight kilometres of cable - that enabled the ship to continue on its way. Some weeks later, when the new switchboard was installed, GTI replaced damaged cables and connected installations to the new board while the ship was under way, without interruption to the scheduled Stena Line service.

Other GTI work for the Stena Line includes:

  • installing a fire alarm system while the Stena Seatrader was under way;
  • installing an entertainment and a security system on the Stena Discovery at night;
  • providing temporary on-board electricians;
  • making small modifications to new ships;
  • installing a range of equipment, including reefer sockets and distribution boxes.

24-hour service
Stena Line also counts on GTI for urgent repairs 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
