Euromax Terminal

Contract: Construction of a new, modern container terminal on the Maasvlakte
Client: Port of Rotterdam Authority
Completion: 31 December 2008

The port of Rotterdam is growing rapidly and the arrival of Maasvlakte 2 will mean a considerable increase of the number of containers the port has to process. To cope with this, an ultramodern container terminal has been built on the Maasvlakte - the Euromax Terminal - and GTI is made a significant contribution to its construction. The Euromax Terminal has storage capacity for 30,000 containers on a 16-hectare site and a transfer area of 16 hectares. The terminal has many sophisticated facilities, including automatic guided vehicles, an automatic rail-mounted gantry, rail-mounted railway crane, dock cranes and power facilities.
