Archipel Residential Care Centre in Almere has been expanded into a centre offering a complete range of health care, residential and welfare facilities to guarantee flexibility and continuity of care. It accommodates nursing home patients, the elderly in need of care, a day centre and a day care facility. The centre also has six units for elderly people with dementia, an Internet cafe/restaurant, forty assisted living units, and a services centre. Archipel has an overall floor area of 10,000 m² and GTI delivered the electrical and mechanical part of the new construction work.

Work carried out
From February 2002 to delivery in November 2003, GTI was responsible for:

• installation of a central reporting and control point, including connection to current facilities;
• installation of a fire alarm system and fire-resistant components (compartmentalisation and emergency doors), including connection to the current fire protection system.
