Since 1964, GTI has worked with Koninklijke Numico N.V. on a wide range of projects. In 2002, GTI Food & Pharma realised an aseptic process line with a UHT treatment plant for various clinical, diet, baby and toddler foods for Nutricia, a Numico-subsidiary. This process line is used for among other products, Nutrilon Plus, Bambix toddler milk, Fortimel, Fortisip, Extran Energy and Stimulance.

UHT treatment
One way of extending the shelf life of liquid products is the UHT (Ultra High Temperature) treatment. Heating liquids to ultra high temperatures for a certain time kills any micro organisms that are present. To prevent any contamination occurring (later) en route to and in the packaging, the interim storage, transport and the final packing are designed aseptically.

GTI was responsible for supplying the complete UHT plant, including the automation, extending the cleaning installation and product supply lines, the connection of the aseptic packaging machines and the installation of the required utilities.
