United Biscuits used to produce its short biscuits in Ede; they are now produced in Zaandam. GTI made an important contribution to the move, which had to be completed in a short time. Based on the ISA S88.01- and S88.02 standards and in cooperation with United Biscuits employees, the GTI engineers rapidly designed the engineering, electrical installation and the control software for the new lines. They used GTI's MES toolbox to develop the software.

Simplicity and speed
The control application is based on Internet technology. This means that the United Biscuits users can access the application from the standard browser and do not have to keep records on their PCs. Moreover, they can obtain an overview of the batch, MES and visualisation functions with just a few mouse clicks. Thanks to the S88 standard, GTI could rapidly test and commission the control and equipment modules. United Biscuits could therefore start using the installation in record time.
