The boiler house at St Elisabeth Hospital in Tilburg no longer met environmental standards and capacity had lagged behind the pace of hospital expansion. Modernising the energy facilities would not be enough to solve the problem. The hospital favoured off-balance financing. Outsourcing was the answer and St Elisabeth opted for GTI's sustainable solution: a reliable installation that would meet current and future requirements.

Work carried out
GTI not only designed and built the new power plant; we are also responsible for maintaining and operating it for the next 15 years. The design has some energy-saving features including flue gas coolers, which increase boiler output, and low NOx burners, which produce minimal emissions. The investment was financed by a lease company. Good cooperation with the parties involved meant the hospital was able to operate as normal during construction.
