During new construction work, sales must go on as usual. This was the challenge that Lyondell Chemical Nederland presented us with. GTI was asked to dismantle and remove the motor control cabinets (MCCs) and transformers from six 6 kV substations and to replace them with three new 6 kV substations. For each substation, GTI built the electrical installation including the medium-voltage installation. The fire alarm, HVAC and fibre-optic installations were also replaced. In fact, GTI took the whole electrical infrastructure in hand: the specialists fitted local panels, two kilometres of cableway and 130 kilometres of cable, and eventually transferred 400 consumers to the new MCCs. And, as agreed, without disturbing the production process.
