GTI West Industrie and its joint venture partners built a tank terminal for Euro Tank Terminal. Construction of the storage tanks alone took 115,000 staff hours. This was a multidisciplinary project, involving GTI's experts in electrical and installation, high pressure/temperature pipe systems, prefabrication and turnkey management. The contract covered engineering, civil engineering work, control room, loading arms, pipe assembly, storage tanks, and electrical and installation. The terminal's eight storage tanks were built by Fabricom GTI Major projects and included the tank engineering, assembly, installation, insulation and testing.
- 4 tanks Ø 60 x 22 metres
- 2 tanks Ø 35 x 15.6 metres
- 2 tanks Ø 18 x 16 metres
The new storage terminal is designed to hold 270,000 m3 of fuel oil.
The storage tanks were built under the supervision of the Dutch Steam Vessel Inspectorate (Lloyd's Register).
The project was started in September 2004 and completed in February 2006.
Following successful completion of ETT 1, Euro Tank Terminal BV awarded the same consortium (consisting of GTI West Industrie, Fabricom Major Projects and Ballast Nedam) the contract to expand storage at the existing fuel oil terminal by 344,000 m3 (ETT2). Euro Tank Terminal BV is part of the Rotterdam-based Vitol Group. Phase 2 is expected to become operational in early 2008.
